Eco-Friendly

You have come to the right place, if you look forward to being in an environment that is natural.

This is an eco-friendly space especially suited for people who use natural products, and in particular eco-friendly and/or fragrance free laundry detergents that are designated “free and clear.”

When you inquire, if you feel unsure of what eco-friendly means, we would be most happy to speak with you about the products that you are using and see if we can make it work by the time you arrive. However, if you normally use strong essential oils in an ongoing way, this won’t be a good fit. Thanks so much for your consideration!

If you use all-natural products, detergent designated “free and clear,” and no essential oils (including laundry detergent) let me know when you contact me.

All linens are washed with eco-friendly products and hung on the line to dry naturally. This is the best way to keep them fragrance free. It takes about 10 wash cycles to get the essential oils out of the linens. If you use a commercial laundry detergent with fragrance it takes a minimum of 3 wash cycles to get the chemicals out of the fabrics. So we generally prefer to host people who are looking for an eco-friendly environment.

I have booked people months in advance who took our eco-friendly challenge to use eco-friendly detergents until they arrive and for the most part that has worked well. If you want to take on the eco-friendly challenge, please let me know.
